States Want To Secede

As of now  thousands of individuals from 40 states have signed a petition to secede and filed on the White House’s We the People website the day after the 2012 election. That is a number that will probably grow in the coming days, and is a harbinger of things that may occur in the coming months, and doesn’t bode well for this Republic.

As the economy continues it’s downward spiral, and as the regime continues to dictatorially impose oppressive laws and regulations the people are going to become more and more dissatisfied and uneasy about the future and will begin to demand change. If there is no change then the calls for secession will increase, and at some point could (will) result in either a Civil War, or more likely a Revolution, or both. If you wonder what a revolution here might be like all you have to do is look at the events unfolding in the Middle East and in particular, Syria.

Anyone that thinks that the current regime will allow any state to secede is borderline delusional. Secession was tried before and resulted in a bloody civil war in which between 618,000 and 750,000 men died. That doesn’t include the deaths of civilians or the monumental loss of property, and the catastrophic economic impact on the nation.

Keep in mind that during that war there were no tanks, no strike aircraft, no armored vehicles, no radio communications, no computers, no Internet, no modern medicine or surgical techniques, and no governmental police force other than the northern soldiers.

Will there be Civil War? Will there be a Revolution? Can the changes that are necessary to restore our great Republic to some semblance of what it once was be accomplished peacefully?

What do you think?
